The Mindset Shift: Knowing When to Reset, Rejuvenate and Replenish

mindset-shiftblog

The New Year has begun and we have written goals and aspirations, maybe even created a dream board, of things we want to accomplish for the year.  However, those goals and aspirations will require a different grind then what we are accustomed to. What is it that you intend to do to make the mindset shift needed to reach your goals?

You have heard the saying “the higher the level, the stronger the devil”?  When we’re striving for the next level of success, it’s going to require a different you: mind, body and spirit. So, if you feel like you’ve given the last task/feat all that you have, then what steps do you intend to take to re-up so that you can continue to give it all you’ve got for the next set of challenges ahead of you?

When we burn the candle at both ends, we find ourselves being no earthly good to anyone: our family, followers, team members, etc. When you start feeling faint and fatigue, don’t be hard on yourself. Instead:

  1. Reset – STOP what you’re doing and take a break. There’s such a thing as “your grind” and then there’s such a thing as “grinding to a halt”. When you reach this plateau, it’s time to reset and decompress. Release the pinned up pressure off yourself. Take time to get quiet, relax and reflect.
  2. Rejuvenate – here’s where your growth mindset is built. Quiet your mind and meditate on those areas where you need to be strengthen in order to carry out your next mission or task. Reflect on what it will required of you mentally, physically, and emotionally.  If you have a family, what support will you need from them in order to focus on and achieve your next accomplishment?  This step may take a few hours, or days even, to be clear on what will be required of you to reach the next plateau. Take as long as you need to ensure that when you get back in the game, you’re fired up and ready to bring it.
  3. Replenish – In this phase, you’re allowing yourself to train, test and teach your audience new information that you’ve taken the time to learn, absorb and test for yourself. This gives you new content that will help you give value to your audience as well as give you the chance to try new techniques to take your business to the next level.

Having the right business mindset is critical to you being able to take your business to the next level.  The higher you achieve, the bigger the trials and tribulations that will come.  We all know that nothing worth having comes easy.  Sometimes, that it’ll require us to take a step back, reassess, change your mindset for growth, study, test new techniques and teach our audience what’s new.
