If you are in the network marketing (or MLM) arena, then we are sure you have heard of Eric Worre of Network Marketing Pro and the author of the book Go Pro. The tips we are about to share are prospecting techniques we learned from watching some of his Youtube videos.
Here are the sales prospecting tips, with our own little spin on it that he shared:
- Relax – funny how this would be the first tip shared, right? But, it’s true. We tend to get all worked up in our heads leading us to overthink the entire process and if it doesn’t make logical sense to us, then we talk ourselves out of approaching our cold market because “we” think we already know the outcome. FALSE. Before you approach your next prospect, close your eyes and take a deep breathe. Deep breathing will help release the anxiety of speaking to a total stranger about our opportunity.
- Treat the encounter as an experience – Whether your mlm leads like your business opportunity or they oppose it, treat them all as an experience. Learn from it. Look at it as though it were a life experience and ask them, “What would you recommend I say that would possibly cause you to look at this opportunity?”. Yes, ask for their feedback. Positive critique is the only way we’ll improve our approach.
- Take the sting out of objections – If you find that the conversation is not going favorably, meaning they are finding reasons/excuses as to why it wouldn’t be a good fit for them, then ask this “Do you know of someone else that may be interested? Someone that would like to make some additional income? Who’s energetic? Motivated? Etc”. Hand them your business card, business material etc. and ask them to pass it on to the referral. 9 times out of 10, they won’t pass it on but instead will look into it further for themselves. People hate to be left out of something that may be beneficial to them.
Hopefully, these prospecting ideas will help you get started with talking to/approaching your cold market. Just remember that a business cannot survive without knowing how to generate leads. Find prospecting methods that fit your personality. When you do, you will relax more and allow the real you to shine.
